Press Release

We are deligthted to announce the launch of the new EFAD-CAACI promotion & distribution grant for a project in the final cut or fist cut of the Ventana Sur Film Festival.

Ventana Sur is one of the leading film and audiovisual markets in Latin America and a key event organized in collaboration with the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes which is why it is the ideal platform for the introduction of the new DALE! Award.

This new award, to be presented during Ventana Sur from December 2 to 6, 2024, aims to support and promote collaboration between the European and Latin American film industries, fostering the development of co-productions that reflect the rich cultural diversity of both regions.

The DALE! Award, of 10K€, will support the visibility and distribution of a Latin American feature film co-produced with at least one European country. Special attention will be given to new co-production partnerships between countries that have not traditionally collaborated. This connection may be based on various elements, such as the cultural content of the script, shooting locations, or shared cast and crew.

The award will be granted by an international jury, composed of one representative from CAACI, one from EFAD, and a third member selected jointly or upon the recommendation of Ventana Sur.

The DALE! Award will be announced during the award ceremony at Ventana Sur, highlighting the market’s continued commitment to fostering European-Latin American cinematic collaboration.

Six Latin American films with European co-production are eligible for the DALE! prize:

  • Bajo el mismo sol by Ulises Porra (Dominican Republic, Spain)
  • Cuerpo criminal by Martín Boulocq (Bolivia, Argentina, France, Germany)
  • Los renacidos by Santiago Esteves (Argentina, Chile, Spain)
  • Olivia by Sofía Petersen (Argentina, UK, Spain)
  • Punku by Juan Daniel Fernández Molero (Peru, Spain)
  • Todos mis viajes son viajes de regreso by Manuel Ponce de León (Colombia, France)
